Kim was announced Sunday as a member of the Orioles' Opening Day roster, Rich Dubroff of CSN Mid-Atlantic reports.

Analysis:

The Orioles were looking to rid themselves of Kim after he put up a .178/.224/.178 line over 49 plate appearances in spring training, but the 28-year-old refused to accept an assignment to Triple-A Norfolk, a right granted to him in his contract. The team found little traction on the trade market and were unwilling to buy out Kim's $7 million deal, so it looks like they will be stuck with the outfielder until further notice. Given the contentious relationship between player and club, it seems unlikely that Kim sees many meaningful at-bats with the Orioles, at least in the early portion of the season.
