The New York Yankees announced Wednesday that X-rays taken on reliever Andrew Miller's bruised right wrist came back negative.

Miller is also scheduled to undergo a CT scan.

The 30-year-old exited Wednesday's exhibition contest against Atlanta after taking a line drive off his right wrist in the seventh inning, and was reportedly seen "squeezing his eyes tight and shaking his arm as he left the field."

Shortly after his departure, general manager Brian Cashman told reporters the veteran had been diagnosed with a bruised wrist and will head back to Tampa for tests.

With newcomer Aroldis Chapman suspended for the first 30 games of the regular season, Miller is slated to open the campaign as New York's closer after logging a career-high 36 saves with a 2.04 ERA last year in his first season with the Yankees.
