Fowler was removed from Sunday's Cactus League outing against the Mariners due to tightness in his left side, Jesse Rogers of ESPN Chicago reports.

Analysis:

Fowler opened the bottom of the first inning with a solo homer, but was removed between innings, as Jason Heyward moved to center field to allow Mark Zagunis to man right. Although the Cubs are terming the tightness as mild, Fowler may see a few-day respite, as there's little reason to press the issue in the waning moments of the spring.
