Agent: Cueto 'doing fine' after line drive to head

The San Francisco Giants can breathe a sigh of relief after learning that right-hander Johnny Cueto isn't feeling any ill effects after taking a line drive off his head Monday night while pitching against the Oakland Athletics.

After taking the shot to the noggin, Cueto stayed in the game to complete three innings before departing to undergo team concussion protocol.

Cueto's agent Bryce Dixon said the 30-year-old was "doing fine" on Tuesday and will follow up with the Giants staff to make sure everything is in good shape, Jon Morosi of FOX Sports reports.

Morosi also reports that Cueto was left with a bump on his head, but "everything looked fine," citing Dixon once again.

Cueto was one of the Giants' big-ticket acquisitions of the offseason, signing a six-year, $130-million contract with the club this past December.

Over the course of his eight-year career, the Dominican hurler owns a 96-70 record with a 3.30 ERA across 226 starts.
