Denard Span: Will start in center Wendesday

Span (shoulder) will make his spring debut in centerfield Wednesday against the Mariners, CSN Bay Area reports.

Analysis:

Span has been acting as the club's designated hitter as he eases back from a minor shoulder injury. It has already been announced that Span will be the club's starting centerfielder and leadoff man. He has hit atop the lineup in all five of his spring starts, and his upcoming start in center on Wednesday only confirms the previous report. As long as he stays healthy, Span should be a great source of hits, runs, and stolen bases hitting in front of the likes of Joe Panik, Buster Posey, Hunter Pence, and Brandon Crawford this season.
