Roughly two years after Jenny Dell was reassigned by the New England Sports Network for beginning a relationship with a member of the Boston Red Sox, another reporter covering the team has resigned amid questions regarding the nature of her relationship with manager John Farrell.

Jessica Moran, a reporter for Comcast SportsNet, confirmed Friday that she has "stepped away" from the network, indicating via text message that "it was in my best personal and professional interest to do so." According to Mark Shanahan of the Boston Globe, local and national baseball reporters at the Red Sox spring training facility in Fort Myers, Fla. have been speculating in recent days as to the nature of Moran's relationship with Farrell, who is in the process of divorcing his wife, Sue.

"As you can understand, this is a tough time for my family," Farrell said, though he declined to comment when broached about his relationship with Moran.

"My private life is my private life," he said.

Bill Bridgen, the general manager of Comcast SportsNet New England, also refused to comment on Moran, who has deleted her Twitter account.
