Castro will take reps at third base throughout the spring, Newsday reports.

Analysis:

Castro was acquired in an offseason trade to be the Yankees' everyday second baseman, but it appears as though he could also play at the hot corner occasionally as Chase Headley's backup. The 25-year-old has never played at third in the majors, so if the club finds a better alternative, then Castro could ultimately just serve at the keystone.
