Jayson Werth feels he'll rebound to his usual level of production in 2016 after being able to go through his normal offseason preparation, the Washington Post reports. "If I'm healthy, I don't see why I can't do what I've always done," Werth said Friday.

Werth feels he'll rebound to his usual level of production in 2016 after being able to go through his normal offseason preparation, the Washington Post reports. "If I'm healthy, I don't see why I can't do what I've always done," Werth said Friday.

Analysis:

Last year, Werth wasn't able to do much offseason work as he recovered from shoulder surgery, and he broke his wrist in May soon after getting back onto the field. The lack of time before and during camp not only affected him at the plate, but it impacted his defense as he made the shift to left field. Now healthy, the 36-year-old thinks another campaign like 2013-2014, when Werth compiled a .304 batting average, 41 home runs, 164 RBI and 19 steals, is within reach.
