Jose Reyes: Placed on administrative leave
Reyes was placed on paid leave Tuesday pending the completion of his criminal proceedings.
Analysis:
Paid leave does differ from a suspension, so commissioner Rob Manfred is still expected to levy a suspension upon the 32-year-old as a result of the domestic abuse charge filed against Reyes over the offseason, regardless of the legal outcome. The shortstop's trial isn't set to begin until Apr. 4 and it's unclear how long the proceedings will last, so while an exact timetable remains unset, Reyes likely won't be eligible to play for the foreseeable future.
