Report: Rockies front office 'doesn't relish' Reyes at camp
The Colorado Rockies' front office reportedly "doesn't relish" having Jose Reyes at spring training while the shortstop's domestic abuse case is ongoing, according to MLB Network's Jon Heyman.
Contact between the team and player was said to have been scarce recently, and it's unclear if the Rockies were expecting Reyes to attend spring training while still under investigation.
Reyes is being investigated for an Oct. 31 incident in which the 32-year-old allegedly assaulted his wife in a Hawaii hotel. He pleaded not guilty and is expected in court April 4.
MLB commissioner Rob Manfred stated he's close to announcing discipline decisions on two of the three MLB domestic abuse cases currently underway - the other two involve New York Yankees pitcher Aroldis Chapman and Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig - but didn't identify which of the disputes are nearing a resolution.
