Alexei Bell could be the next Cuban sensation to take the majors by storm.

The 32-year-old outfielder worked out for scouts from 13 major-league teams Monday in Mexico, according to MLB.com's Jesse Sanchez.

Bell took batting practice, fielded balls, showed off his arm strength, and ran a 60-yard dash for scouts from the St. Louis Cardinals, Los Angeles Dodgers, Boston Red Sox, and New York Yankees, among others.

The Cuban defector is still waiting to be declared a free agent by Major League Baseball after playing 13 seasons in the Serie Nacional.

Bell owns a career .319 batting average with 138 home runs and 632 RBIs while playing 659 games on the island. He's also represented his country in numerous international competitions, including the 2013 World Baseball Classic.

Interested teams would not be subject to international bonus pool limits when trying to sign Bell.
