Report: Chapman's arbitration hearing set for Feb. 19

As Aroldis Chapman awaits possible punishment from the league for his alleged involvement in a domestic violence case, the New York Yankees closer has another hearing to prepare for.

The Yankees' arbitration hearing with Chapman is reportedly scheduled for Feb. 19, according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network, after the two sides failed to come to an agreement prior to last month's deadline. The left-hander is seeking $13.1 million while the team countered with $9 million.

Only three arbitration cases remain, though the Yankees could come to an agreement with their biggest offseason acquisition prior to facing the three-person panel.

Chapman earned $8.05 million last season and is coming off a fourth straight All-Star season. The 27-year-old posted a 1.63 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, and 116 strikeouts across 66 1/3 innings while converting 33 saves.

Players have won three of the four arbitration cases so far this winter.
