Report: Dodgers trying to trade Alex Guerrero

Alex Guerrero may be the odd man out in the Los Angeles Dodgers outfield mix, which could spell the end of his tenure with the club.

With a logjam in the outfield, the Dodgers are trying to trade the 29-year-old, reports Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports.

The Dodgers have reportedly spoken with numerous teams about Guerrero, and Rosenthal speculates he fits best with an American League club.

Los Angeles has outfielders Yasiel Puig, Joc Pederson, Andre Ethier, Carl Crawford, and Scott Van Slyke projected to earn playing time next season, while Enrique Hernandez also has the ability to patrol the outfield, so there doesn't appear to be much room on the major-league roster for Guerrero.

Guerrero got off to a hot start for the Dodgers last April, hitting .423/.429/1.077 with five home runs and 13 RBIs, eventually cooling off and being relegated to a bench role.

Over 106 games last season, the Cuban hit .233/.261/.434 with 11 home runs and 36 RBIs, striking out in 24.7 percent of his plate appearances.

He's set to earn $7.5 million next season.
