Reds' Lamb underwent offseason back surgery

Cincinnati Reds left-hander John Lamb underwent offseason back surgery, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

Analysis:

Lamb went under the knife for disc surgery in December, but was originally expected to be ready in time for the start of the season. Manager Bryan Price recently indicated that the lefty was a bit behind schedule though, so mid-to-late April seems to be the target date at this point.
