Delmon Young, the veteran outfielder who spent the last two years with the Baltimore Orioles, was arrested Sunday after allegedly choking and threatening to kill a valet attendant at a Miami hotel in a slur-laden incident.

According to a Miami police report, the 30-year-old began choking a valet attendant after he refused to let Young onto an elevator to a club at a Brickell hotel. When he first told Young the club was closed, the outfielder became irate, calling the attendant a "stupid Cuban" and telling him to "open the (expletive) door." Though Young eventually walked away, he returned moments later and started uttering threats after the attendant repeated that the club was closed.

"I'm gonna (expletive) kill you, you Latin piece of (expletive)," the report said.

Young then placed his hands on the attendant's neck and strangled him for five to six seconds before the attendant managed to break free and run for help. The police were called shortly thereafter.

When police arrived at Young's condominium, he was naked from the waist down and "unsteady on his feet." Young's speech was slurred, and he was belligerent, telling one officer: "I'll slap you in the face with money, you (expletive) Cuban."

Young, a free agent, was arrested in 2012 and plead guilty to aggravated harassment after uttering an anti-Semitic slur and tackling a man to the ground in New York.
