Tommy Bahama to honor Ortiz with custom shirt

David Ortiz is literally going to be retiring in style.

Luxury sportswear company Tommy Bahama is honoring the Boston Red Sox slugger with a limited edition silk shirt, which features an image of Ortiz blasting a home run with the Green Monster as the backdrop.

Only 550-650 shirts will be manufactured and they'll retail for $250.

"David fits into what we're trying to do. He's bigger than life," said Tommy Bahama chief executive officer Doug Wood. "I'm a big baseball fan and when we heard David was retiring it made sense he should be on a special edition. We wanted a piece of that."

Ortiz will be the first active player to be featured on a Tommy Bahama shirt. Baseball legends Mickey Mantle, Willie Mays, and Jackie Robinson have previously been recognized by the company with custom shirts.
