The Los Angeles Dodgers added two recently retired stars to their front office Tuesday, hiring four-time Cy Young award winner Greg Maddux and one-time All-Star Raul Ibanez as special assistants to president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman and his department.

Maddux, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame two years ago, finished his illustrious 23-year playing career with the Dodgers (who also employed him briefly in 2006), making eight starts with the club in 2008 before announcing his retirement. In 2010, Maddux took a job as special assistant to Cubs general manager Jim Hendry, spending two years in Chicago before leaving the club in 2011 for a job with the Texas Rangers, with whom his brother, Mike, works as pitching coach.

Ibanez, meanwhile, spent last season as an analyst for FOX Sports after failing to land a contract from an MLB team following a disappointing 2014 campaign split between the Los Angeles Angels and Kansas City Royals. The 43-year-old will join the Dodgers' front office just months after Gabe Kapler, another former outfielder, was lured away from FOX to Los Angeles, where he'll serve as the team's new director of player development.
