The Texas Rangers added some depth to their starting rotation Wednesday, agreeing to re-sign right-hander Nick Tepesch to a minor-league deal.
The contract includes an invitation to spring training.
Tepesch, 27, missed the entire 2015 season after undergoing surgery to correct Thoracic Outlet Syndrome.
Prior to missing the last campaign, Tepesch made 39 starts for the Rangers between 2013-14, posting a 4.56 ERA across 219 innings of work.
He'll likely compete with Chi Chi Gonzalez, A.J. Griffin, Nick Martinez, and Anthony Ranaudo for the fifth spot in the club's rotation.
