Report: Nationals, Reds showing interest in Arroyo

Bronson Arroyo may be set for a reunion in his future.

The 38-year-old right-hander is drawing interest from both the Washington Nationals and Cincinnati Reds, a source told Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports.

Arroyo previously pitched for the Reds from 2006-13, spending 2008-13 playing under current Nationals manager Dusty Baker.

The once-durable veteran, whose logged 200-plus innings eight times over his career, was traded from the Arizona Diamondbacks to the Atlanta Braves and then to the Los Angeles Dodgers last season. He failed to log an inning for any of the three clubs during 2015 season while recovering from Tommy John surgery.

If Arroyo were to sign with the Nationals, he could be added into the mix for a rotation spot along with Max Scherzer, Stephen Strasburg, Gio Gonzalez, Joe Ross, and Tanner Roark.

Cincinnati's young and inexperienced rotation for the upcoming season lacks a veteran presence, so Arroyo could fill the need for the rebuilding Reds.
