Oberholtzer will compete for the fifth spot in the Phillies rotation this spring, the team's official site reports.

Analysis:

Oberholtzer came over to the Phillies as part of the Ken Giles trade this offseason. He was 2-2 with a 4.46 ERA and a 27:17 K:BB in 38.1 innings for the Astros last season. He will compete with Vincent Velasquez, Adam Morgan, David Buchanan, Alec Asher and Severino Gonzalez this spring. If Oberholtzer does not win a starting job, he will likely open the year in the pen as he is out of minor league options.
