Steve Vrablik was one of a number of major-league scouts floored by the undeniable talent a 17-year-old Ken Griffey Jr. demonstrated in 1987.

While on assignment in Cincinnati, Vrablik noted that he believed the now Hall of Famer projected to have "future outstanding power," and demonstrated "above average to outstanding tools in all five categories."

He did, however, believe that Griffey "over swings at times," but is a top prospect with outstanding skills.

Griffey would be selected with the first overall pick later that summer and go on to hit 630 home runs over his 22-year career - the sixth-most of all time. He was elected into Cooperstown earlier this month, receiving a record 99.3 percent of the vote.
