The Detroit Tigers and left-hander Justin Wilson avoided arbitration Wednesday by agreeing to a $1.525-million deal, reports MLB Network's Jon Heyman.

The Tigers acquired the 28-year-old from the New York Yankees on Dec. 9 in exchange for a pair of minor-leaguers.

Wilson was a productive bullpen arm in 2015, posting a 5-0 record with 3.10 ERA across 74 appearances, striking out 9.7 hitters per nine innings.

The southpaw owns a career ERA of 3.03 across four big-league seasons split between the Yankees and Pittsburgh Pirates.

He was projected to earn $1.3 million by MLB Trade Rumors.
