Report: Braves agree to minors deal with Jhoulys Chacin

The Atlanta Braves have agreed to a minor-league contract with right-hander Jhoulys Chacin, according to CBS Sports' Jon Heyman.

Chacin, whose release from the Colorado Rockies shocked the baseball world last March, spent the majority of last season at Triple-A with both the Cleveland Indians and Arizona Diamondbacks organizations.

The 27-year-old battled shoulder issues in 2014 and never seemed to regain his velocity, which prompted Colorado to cut ties.

Chacin is 40-49 with a 3.76 ERA and 1.33 WHIP over 129 career appearances, and would compete for a spot in Atlanta's rotation next spring.
