Blue Jays re-sign Thole to 1-year deal

The Toronto Blue Jays announced on Friday that the club has re-signed catcher Josh Thole to a one-year, $800,000 contract.
Thole, 29, was on the free-agent market for a short time after being non-tendered by the Blue Jays on Wednesday.
The seven-year major-league veteran is the personal catcher of knuckleballer R.A. Dickey, who will pitch for Toronto in 2016, but Thole's shortcomings are noticeable on the offensive side of the game.
He only appeared in 18 games at the big-league level in 2015, hitting .204/.250/.245 with two doubles and two RBIs.
