Report: Braves made 2 trade offers for D-Backs' Pollock

Matt Kartozian / USA TODAY Sports

The Atlanta Braves have been one of the most active teams this fall, and now they're relentlessly pursuing one of the Arizona Diamondbacks' rising stars

Atlanta has submitted multiple trade offers for speedy outfielder A.J. Pollock, according to FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal.

The Braves' initial offer was right-hander Shelby Miller for Pollock straight up, but it was quickly rejected by Arizona. Atlanta then packaged righty Arodys Vizcaino with Miller and requested Pollock and lanky right-hander Aaron Blair in return, but Diamondbacks general manager Dave Stewart also squashed that deal.

Pollock, 27, earned first-time All-Star and Gold Glove honors with a breakout 2015 campaign. He hit .315/.367/.498 with 20 homers and 76 RBIs while stealing 39 bases on 46 attempts. The center fielder is first-year arbitration eligible and is under team control until 2019.

The Braves have been shopping Miller all fall as they aggressively continue their rebuilding project. General manager John Coppolella has already traded away Cameron Maybin and Andrelton Simmons this offseason, and Miller is drawing trade interest from multiple clubs.
