There may be a Canadian diamond in the rough for the Toronto Blue Jays.
The Blue Jays have agreed to a minor league deal with left-hander Scott Diamond, reports Sportsnet's Ben Nicholson-Smith.
Diamond, a native of Guelph, Ont., had a decent 2012 in which he finished with a 12-9 record and a 3.59 ERA along with a complete game in 27 starts with the Minnesota Twins.
However, the Canadian dropped off the following year, mounting a 6-13 losing record alongside a 5.43 ERA in 24 starts.
