Texas Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus is focusing on the positives from the worst game of his career.

It's been five weeks since Andrus was the focal point of the Rangers' seventh-inning meltdown of Game 5 of the ALDS, in which the 27-year-old was charged for two of three errors, allowing the Toronto Blue Jays to rally and win the series.

"The bad things, I learn from that and put it in the past," Andrus told Gerry Fraley of the Dallas Morning News. "For sure, what happened last year is something that is going to make me work harder.

"I don't think about it. It was a long process, but I'm in a good spot right now."

Following the loss, Andrus said he let everybody down and that there was no excuse for the errors. He went as far as to refer to the incident as the "toughest point" of his career. Time has since helped heal some of those wounds, with Andrus acknowledging he's done dwelling on the past.

"I have nothing to be ashamed about," Andrus said. "That's baseball. Unfortunately, it happened to me. That's something I will learn from, something that for sure will help in the rest of my career."

He added, "There are a lot of ups and downs. I'm still here. I know I've got a lot of baseball in myself and a lot of good things that are going to happen. That'll start next year."
