Jesse Chavez: Traded to Blue Jays

Chavez was traded to the Blue Jays on Friday for Liam Hendriks, FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports.

Analysis:

The Jays have a hole in the rotation, with David Price likely heading elsewhere in free agency. Chavez has had a FIP under 4.00 in each of the last three seasons, and he pitched a career-high 157 innings in 2015 before being shut down after suffering a broken rib. It's a downgrade in ballpark for the veteran righty, but an indisputable upgrade in projected run support, so he could win double-digit games for the first time in his career.
