Nolan Arenado's humble side is showing.

After finishing eighth in the National League MVP race, the Colorado Rockies third baseman spoke about what it means to be considered one of the league's elite players.

"Getting in top 10 is great, and I'm very thankful for that," he told Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post. "For me to be in the question is pretty awesome, no doubt.

"I never play the game for awards ... but this makes me feel good that people are noticing."

Arenado received 102 points, and four votes for third place for the award, which was unanimously won by Bryce Harper of the Washington Nationals, a player Arenado believed was the right choice.

"Harper is absolutely deserving of the award," Arenado said. "He had an amazing year. He played so well, and was so consistent."

Arenado completed his third season in the bigs hitting .287/.323/.575 with 42 home runs and 130 RBIs.
