Carlos Correa: Wins AL Rookie of the Year

Correa won the American League Rookie of the Year Award on Monday, becoming the first Astros player to win the award since Jeff Bagwell in 1991, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Analysis:

Correa hit .279 with 22 doubles, 22 home runs, 68 RBI and 14 stolen bases in only 99 games for Houston. Among AL rookies, he ranked first in homers, slugging (.512) and OPS (.857), while ranking second in RBI and on-base percentage (.345) and third in batting average. The 21-year-old garnered 17 first-place votes to edge Francisco Lindor, who had 13.
