After watching Ben Zobrist celebrate a World Series title with the Kansas City Royals at Citi Field, the New York Mets could be looking to lure the utility man to Queens.

The Mets are among several teams that have already reached out to Zobrist's agent, according to Ken Davidoff and Dan Martin of the New York Post.

Zobrist is coming off a strong year in which he hit .284/.364/.453 with 13 home runs and 36 doubles across 126 games and would be a nice fit for the National League club, filling the void at second base following the likely departure of Daniel Murphy to free agency.

General manager Sandy Alderson could use Ruben Tejada and Wilmer Flores internally up the middle infield, though Zobrist would be an upgrade over the latter at second. The 34-year-old is expected to command a salary in the range of three-years, $46 million.
