A.J. Pierzynski is officially returning to the Atlanta Braves.
The team announced Thursday that the two sides have agreed to terms on a one-year deal.
Reports surfaced Wednesday that Pierzynski and the Braves came to an agreement on a one-year, $3-million contract.
The 38-year-old caught 909 2/3 innings behind the dish for the Braves in 2015, committing two errors and catching 31.3 percent of base-runners who attempted to steal on him.
He also proved to still be an offensive threat, hitting .300/.339/.430 with nine home runs and 49 RBIs.
The two-time All-Star owns a career .282/.321/.424 hitting line with 186 home runs and 886 RBIs across 18 seasons, winning a World Series title with the Chicago White Sox in 2005.
