Aaron Hicks: Traded to Yankees

Hicks was traded to the Yankees on Wednesday in exchange for John Ryan Murphy.

Analysis:

The Twins had an excess of outfielders, and wanted to make room for Max Kepler/Miguel Sano, so it makes sense in that regard. Hicks, a 26-year-old switch hitter, can handle all three outfield spots and has legitimate 20/20 potential. However, it will be difficult for him to play everyday if the Yankees don't make another move, as Brett Gardner, Jacoby Ellsbury and Carlos Beltran are all under contract and Aaron Judge is waiting in the wings. His value won't be fully known until the rest of the offseason shakes out.
