Slumping Tulowitzki still bothered by shoulder injury

Denny Medley / USA TODAY Sports

Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Troy Tulowitzki has resembled anything but a five-time All-Star through his first six games this postseason.

Tulowitzki's dropped to 2-for-25 after going hitless in four at-bats in a 5-0 loss to the Kansas City Royals in Game 1 of the ALCS on Friday, and manager John Gibbons admitted that his slugger is still dealing with shoulder pain from a previous injury.

"I know it's still bothering him," Gibbons told reporters, "but he's good enough to play and he wants to play and he's gutting it out."

While the two-time Gold Glove winner has looked fine defensively since returning from a three-week absence with a cracked left shoulder, he's looked lost at the plate.

Aside from going 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs in Game 3 of the ALDS, Tulowitzki is 0-for-23 with nine strikeouts.
