Report: Cora to interview for manager jobs with Padres, Marlins, Nationals

Mike Segar / USA TODAY Sports

Former infielder Alex Cora will hope 14 years of major-league experience are enough to land him a managerial role heading into 2016.

The 39-year-old is preparing to interview for the managerial vacancies with the San Diego Padres, Miami Marlins, and Washington Nationals, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports.

Cora appeared in 1,273 games in the majors with six different organizations. The Nationals are the only team he's reportedly interviewing with that he also played for.

Since retiring in the spring of 2012, Cora has gone on to work as an analyst for ESPN.
