Baez is starting at shortstop and hitting ninth in the order for Game 4 of the NLDS.

Analysis:

Baez collected two hits in relief during Game 3 after Addison Russell exited the game following an injury to his ankle. With Russell still not cleared for action Tuesday, Baez will get the start at shortstop and bat ninth in the batting order. The 22-year-old has struggled against the Cardinals' Game 4 starter John Lackey -- in eight career at-bats against the veteran, Baez has not recorded a hit and has struck out four times.
