With Russell still not cleared for action Tuesday, Baez will get the start at shortstop and bat ninth in the batting order. The 22-year-old has struggled against the Cardinals' Game 4 starter John Lackey -- in eight career at-bats against the veteran, Baez has not recorded a hit and has struck out four times.
