Chicago Cubs shortstop Addison Russell left Monday's contest with the St. Louis Cardinals in the fourth inning with tightness in his left hamstring.

Russell tripled in the fourth inning of Game 3, and suffered the injury while sliding into third base. He'll be re-evaluated prior to Game 4 on Tuesday, but reported feeling better after receiving treatment. The Cubs have not scheduled an MRI at this point.

"It feels fine now," Russell told reporters. "We're just going to wait and see how it goes overnight, come back in, I'll tell the trainers how I feel and we'll go from there."

Javier Baez took over at shortstop for the Cubs in his absence, and is an option to fill in Tuesday.

Russell is 3-for-12 with an RBI and a stolen base in his first four career playoff contests.
