Analysis:
Nevin Ashley was designated for assignment in a corresponding move. The 30-year-old Guerra returned to affiliated baseball in 2015 after six years away, posting a 3.13 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 105:33 K:BB in 83.1 innings between Double-A and Triple-A. He also made his major league debut this season, throwing four innings out of the White Sox's bullpen, and it's possible he could compete for a job in spring training if he survives Rule 5 cuts.
