Bryant dazzles with glove in playoff debut

Kris Bryant was promoted to the majors for his bat, but it was his glove that made the biggest impact in Wednesday's wild-card game.

Bryant, whose versatility allowed manager Joe Maddon to start him in left field for just the fifth time in his young major-league career, made a pair of spectacular plays at third during the late innings of the winner-take-all.

After Chicago Cubs right-hander Jake Arrieta surrendered a leadoff single to Travis Snider in the sixth, Bryant showed off his quick reflexes with this nifty grab on Gregory Polanco to stunt a potential Pittsburgh rally.

One inning later, the National League Rookie of the Year front-runner started an impressive 5-4-3 double play to end the seventh.

Bryant's defense helped back a dominant effort from Arrieta, who pitched a complete-game shutout in the Cubs' 4-0 win.
