Ichiro Suzuki is hoping to extend his Hall of Fame-worthy career another season.

The soon-to-be 42-year-old wrapped up his 15th season in the majors on Sunday and, with free agency looming, believes he's still got plenty left in the tank.

"(Ichiro) is definitely planning to play in 2016 and beyond," his agent, John Boggs, told Jon Morosi of FOX Sports.

While he isn't the on-base machine he once was, Suzuki still managed to appear in 296 games over the last two seasons with the Miami Marlins and remains open to a possible return.

Suzuki, who's appeared in 2,357 major-league games, capped off his 2015 season by pitching for the first time - which he considers one of his career highlights.

"To be on a mound at a major-league baseball game, you can say that one of my dreams came true today," Suzuki said.
