James Shields: Won't start Sunday
Shields will not make his scheduled start Sunday, the Union-Tribune's Dennis Lin reports.
Analysis:
He is not injured, but the Padres want to evaluate some of their other pitchers, so it will be a bullpen day. Shields can now be dropped in single-season leagues. It is unclear who will take the ball Sunday, but it will be difficult to peg which Padres reliever could be in position to qualify for a win.
