Ortiz in Red Sox lineup Friday vs. Indians

Boston Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz is in the lineup Friday against the Indians, Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe reports.

Analysis:

Ortiz missed Thursday's contest with general soreness and was at risk of not returning this season, but he'll slot back into the lineup as the team's DH, batting cleanup Friday.

"Some general soreness, the body is tired," interim manager Torey Lovullo told reporters Thursday. "He's had a really, really good season. And I don't want to put him in a situation where he's going to run up against an injury, out of fairness to him."
