The Atlanta Braves said they are "deeply saddened" by the tragic loss of Georgia native Greg Murrey, the fan who fell to his death from the upper level of Turner Stadium during Saturday's game against the New York Yankees.

During the seventh inning of the game, the 60-year-old Murrey tumbled head over feet from the fourth deck of the stadium, plummeting more than 40 feet before hitting the concrete walkway in front of dozens of fans left standing in disbelief.

The game continued while paramedics performed CPR before rushing him to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The Atlanta police are still investigating how Murrey fell, but said they do not believe foul play was involved.

"Greg was a valued and longtime season ticket holder and an incredibly passionate Braves fan," the Braves said in a statement. "This tragic loss is felt throughout Braves Country, and the thoughts and prayers of the entire Braves organization continue to go out to his family and friends."

Saturday's incident occurred just over two years after 30-year-old Ronald Lee Homer Jr. fell to his death from the fourth deck at Turner Field. Lee's death was ruled a suicide by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office.
