There wasn't much that went right for the Atlanta Braves on Friday as they were thumped by the New York Yankees by a score of 15-4, but at least the lopsided affair spawned a hilarious Jonny Gomes clip.

The 34-year-old outfielder entered to pitch for the Braves in the ninth inning and immediately gave up a home run to Chris Young of the Yankees.

Gomes would allow two runs on three hits, pushing his ERA for the season to 18.00, but managed a strikeout of Bryan Mitchell, which he followed with an equally fantastic celebration.

"Any time you're between the lines in a big league ballgame, it's not really a laughing matter, when you're up or down," Gomes told reporters after the game. "With that being said, it doesn't take the loss out of the loss column, but hopefully there were a couple chuckles."

It was the first time Gomes ever pitched in a game at any level, including high school, and he also became the first Braves position player to pitch in a game since 1989.
