VIDEO: Wright gets roaring ovation in Citi Field return
David Wright made his return to Citi Field on Friday and the New York Mets' faithful showed appreciation to the face of the franchise.
Wright stepped to the plate, in the bottom of the first inning, for the first time inside Citi Field since April 14 and received a resounding ovation from the audience.

Unfortunately, Wright would pop out to Boston Red Sox second baseman Brock Holt, but he would go 2-for-5 on the night in the Mets' 6-4 loss.
The 32-year-old third baseman missed the majority of the season with spinal stenosis, appearing in just eight games before making his return to the Mets' lineup on Aug. 24.
Wright has played well since his return and wass hitting .313/.377/.815 with two home runs, five RBIs, and two stolen bases for the season prior to the contest.
Before Friday's loss, the Mets hadn't lost a game since Wright's return.
