Adam Jones to start Friday, one day after collision with wall

Not even a collision with a wall can stop Adam Jones from playing ball.

The Baltimore Orioles center fielder will slot into the starting lineup on Friday against the Texas Rangers.

Jones will bat third and play in his regular spot in the outfield.

The 30-year-old superstar crashed into a center-field wall on Thursday and was forced to leave the game.

It was later revealed that he came out of the contest because he didn't feel like himself and suffered from whiplash symptoms.

"Any time Adam says anything is bothering him, you better multiply it times two because he’s a tough nut," manager Buck Showalter said of Jones after the incident.

Jones has missed just 11 games for the Orioles this season and missed a total of five regular-season games between 2012 and 2014.
