Angels' Freese could be activated soon, will play third base in rehab assignment

Jayne Kamin-Oncea / USA TODAY Sports

Los Angeles Angels outfielder David Freese (finger) is set to start playing third base on his rehab assignment in the next 3-to-4 days and could be activated by the Angels shortly after that, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports.

Analysis:

Freese began his rehab assignment on Sunday but has yet to play in the field at Triple-A Salt Lake, but he appears to be on track to play third base by the end of the week. If his time playing third base goes without a hitch, he could be activated by the end of the Angels' current road trip.
