New York Mets pitcher Matt Harvey didn't accompany his team for its weekend series in Miami after experiencing symptoms of dehydration Wednesday, the team said.

Harvey said he felt weak and dehydrated during and after Wednesday's 9-4 win over the Philadelphia Phillies, but the team said he "should be fine" to make his next start against the Washington Nationals on Tuesday. The right-hander allowed four runs on nine hits against the Phillies, but fanned nine batters over 6 1/3 frames to earn the victory.

Manager Terry Collins told reporters after the game that Harvey's turn in the rotation will be skipped at least once before the end of the season in order to keep his innings in the 185-190 range.

The 26-year-old has performed well in his return from Tommy John surgery, pitching to a 2.60 ERA and 1.01 WHIP across 25 starts.
