Nationals' Strasburg dazzles in latest rehab start with 11 strikeouts

Brad Mills-USA TODAY Sports

Stephen Strasburg is pitching like he's ready to return to the big leagues.

The Washington Nationals hurler's been recovering from a left oblique injury he suffered July 4. He made what could be his last rehab start at Triple-A Syracuse on Monday, tossing 5 2/3 innings and striking out 11 in the process.

The right-hander gave up four hits and two earned runs without walking a batter and hit the high-90s with his fastball, according to Lindsay Kramer of Syracuse.com.

Prior to the injury, Strasburg struggled in 13 starts for Washington. His hits per nine innings (10.8) and ERA (5.16) both inflated to career worsts.

The Nationals could still use his help, as the team has lost its lead atop the National League East standings to the surging New York Mets.
