VIDEO: Mets' Conforto launches 3-run blast at Marlins Park for 1st career homer
In his first season as a professional, Michael Conforto hit just three home runs in 42 games for the Brooklyn Cyclones of the New York-Pennsylvania League last summer. Still, talent evaluators projected potential plus power for the 22-year-old selected 10th overall by the New York Mets.
Conforto vindicated those scouts at Marlins Park on Monday night, launching a huge three-run homer off Miami right-hander Tom Koehler for the first home run of his MLB career.

Promoted from Double-A Binghamton less than two weeks ago, Conforto entered Monday's series opener hitting .211/.348/.316 with two doubles through his first six games with the Mets. Before joining New York, the outfielder tallied 12 homers with an .854 OPS in 91 games between Binghamton and High-A St. Lucie.
